Is Dropbox changing my file names upon upload?

Hello!

Is Dropbox changing my filenames upon uploading them?

I've been uploading some audio files through the service for a couple weeks, and every time I receive the confirmation email to show my uploads it seems to have lost an underscore from my filename. Example below:

My file on my computer: Project A_Nov2022_Superfly1.wav

What the confirmation email shows was uploaded: Project A_Nov2022 Superfly1.wav

Every time the last underscore is missing. Its always the underscore being removed. Is this a glitch or something? My files will not be accepted by my employer if labeled incorrectly, so I'd just like to be sure.

Thanks for any insight!

Hey superfly1, how are you today?

Are you uploading files using a File Request? Also, does this happen with all of your files, or just some of them?

    Any screenshots will be helpful.

    Keep me posted!

    Thanks for responding,

Im sorry that I can't upload screenshots of the file names due to NDA issues.

But it is indeed through a file request, and it does happen every time. The last underscore is shown missing when I receive my confirmation email.

The file I've quadruple checked for the proper name on my own computer before uploading: Project B_Audition_Superfly1

What Dropbox shows was delivered via confirmation email: Project B_Audition Superfly1

Is it possibly just a glitch in the confirmation email?

Hi superfly1, just to check, do you know what the name of the file is on the other end after the upload was complete?

Generally, with file requests, the user's name is also added to the file, so it would look like John Smith - test file.txt.
