Mac Ventura: Wish to delete all DB data on HD but retain it online
Hi there
New laptop, and in error I selected Sync with computer.
Which is precisely what I did not want, as I only wish for my files and folders to remain online.
I have now paused the sync (somehow cannot find where to stop it) at 16GB out of the tool 316GB resting online.
I want to remove all of the partially uploaded DB data from my new laptop and rely on online access to DB only.
However ..... I am scared that when I delete this 16GB I might also loose my online data.
I have "hidden" the folders using the Select Sync facility but of course - they remain along with the files on my HD.
Trashing the DB via Finder, and cleaning out the BD cache sound like the next steps, but how do I prevent my 213 GB of data not to
become lost / deleted?
Many thanks,
Andre

Hey AndreduP, welcome to the Dropbox Community!
If you wish to remove Dropbox from your computer completely and only access it from your browser, the first thing you need to do is unlink the computer from your account.
To unlink it, either sign out of the Dropbox desktop app or delete it from your connected devices here.
Once the device is unlinked, you can safely delete the files from your computer and uninstall the Dropbox app.
If you have any questions, let me know.
