Make doc scanning better

It has trouble scanning a piece of paper.

  • Yeah, I’ve done both. I thought I’d mention the issue for the programmers to magically fix it. 🙂

Hi there bruce c.10 - thanks for posting on our Community and sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you please clarify your device's OS version and the version of the Dropbox app you're using at the moment?

Any additional information or screenshots would be more than welcome!

    iOS 18.0.1, Dropbox 400.2.2

The scanning works perfect with white paper on a dark surface, as you would expect.  Unfortunately, my desk and counter are more white-ish. (see attached)

Hey bruce c.10, thanks for the screenshot!

Does it help if you use the camera flash at all? It's the one on the bottom right.

No change. the app sizes the paper before the flash fires

Hey bruce c.10, I see, thanks for clarifying!

I believe that in your case you'd need to either zoom, or move your camera closer or change the surface.

In any case, I believe that you should have the option to edit the automatically selected area, once you've taken a picture. Can you check?
