3 years agoHi susankeogh, could you clarify why you believe Dropbox is changing the file extensions?
Is this only occurring the in the Dropbox folder? How are you 'organizing' the files exactly? Are you moving them to different folders, or using an image app to make changes to them?

Hi,
I didn’t think Dropbox was changing the files, I believe it is my MacBook somehow , even though I don’t actually download the files. I have been creating new folders in dropbox and moving photos from my camera uploads folder, in dropbox, into them so I can find stuff again. Then I notice they were no longer jpgs. But online research mentioned dropbox could possibly prevent this happening, like on my iPhone I can tell it not to convert to heic before uploading. From research the ones that changed have to be chosen and changed back to jpg by me in some way.

This article refers to the heic file format, and how to convert images from heic during the automatic camera upload feature. Would this be useful for your purposes?
