Those limits are explained in the link that Walter provided.

    Bandwidth limits for Dropbox accounts

To prevent abuse, Dropbox has established the following bandwidth limits for accounts:

    • Dropbox Basic and trials for Dropbox Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise: 20 GB of bandwidth and up to 100,000 file downloads per day.
    • Dropbox Plus, Family, Professional, and Standard: 1 TB of bandwidth and unlimited file downloads per day.
    • Dropbox Advanced and Enterprise: 4 TB of bandwidth and unlimited file downloads per day.

Hey Jenny93, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community.

Can you clarify what you mean when you say that your account is blocked?

Are you getting any error messages, when trying to sign in to it?

    Cheers.

    hey Hannah

    Thanks for the fast reply!

So i shared a link with photos and then i got an e-Mail saying:

"Diese E-Mail ist eine automatisierte Dropbox-Benachrichtigung mit der Information, dass Ihre öffentlichen Links vorübergehend gesperrt wurden, weil sie ein übermäßig hohes Datenaufkommen generiert haben."

    English:

"This email is an automated Dropbox notification informing you that your public links have been temporarily suspended because they were generating excessive traffic."

So I don't know why, because i didn't reach the data volume on my account and i don't know what that exactly means with the traffic.

The first time i could click on a link to reactivate the account, but now it's not working anymore 😞

    Thank you!

Oh, I see, thanks for clarifying, Jenny.

It seems like your sharing activity has been temporarily suspended, which usually lasts 24 hours, if it's the first time.

You can read more about it and why it happened here.

    Hey Hannah,

Thank you for the information! So if it's the first time and the 24 hours are over, then it will not happen again if the storage is no fully used?

Or what do i need to do, if it happens again, even though there is some storage left?

    Hey Walter

    Thank you for explaining! 🙂

That makes sense. Is there any specific number of traffic or anything, that will make the link suspended? Just for the next time i send a link.
