Is that a message that they're getting when trying to share, or that you're getting while trying to accept the share?
When sharing, I wouldn't think it matters whether the recipient has an account or not because it will just prompt the recipient to create an account.
Can you get a screenshot of the exact message? Also the steps to reproduce would be helpful.
