Sharing 'view only' link emailed to a person that doesn't have Dropbox

*Update*  I figured out what I was doing wrong. Is there a way to delete this message?

I am having trouble sharing a view only link.  I am clicking the 'Copy Link' button on the right side of the screen to the left of the Share button.  I copied the link and emailed it to a person who does not have a Dropbox account.  When they click on the link, they get a message that says, "You don't have access.  You can ask the person who shared the link to invite you directly."  The only link on the page says 'Back to Files' and it takes them to the Dropbox website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Im having the same problem! I have changed my settings to anyone with link can view. But when I send it to the person, they say they need to request permission. How did you resolve it?

Hi cmwags, thanks for your message! I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve your issue.

Schema, regarding this matter, are you definitely sending a shared link to a folder or file, or an invite to a shared folder? There are differences in how the file is shared, and if the person has been invited directly.

What is the exact message they're getting on the screen?

This will help me to assist further!
