Syncing Issues and slowness across many users
Hello Dropbox Fam,
We are facing an issue with our dropbox installations. We have about 70 users and 110TB of content on our drive. We heavily use Smart Sync and most users only have about 50-100GB synced to their actual drive. But lately we have seen major slow downs with syncing across the board. What are some ways that we can remedy this for our users so they can go back to loving Dropbox.
Our team is all MacOS with Apple Silicon so modern computers that should be able to handle it.

Hey JoshSorenson, sorry to hear about this.
Could you let us know some additional information about the issue you're having so that we can assist further?
For example, what is the exact OS version of the computers in use and the version of the desktop app installed there? Do you notice this issue in general or only when the desktop app is syncing your files or the changes to your files?
Let us know more and we'll take it from there, John.

Hi JoshSorenson, are they all using the new File Provider version of the Dropbox desktop application? This prevent the use of LAN sync, which could be used to speed up syncing in the background.
Have you checked that their bandwidth isn't restricted in the Dropbox desktop application preferences?

It isn't available for me, but also it specifically mentions that it may be slow for enviroments with 300k+ files. Also we are all remote so the Lan Sync isn't even used ever. I'd be willing to try it though, but it doesn't seem to be available for me.

JoshSorenson, if you’re syncing more than 300k files locally, this may affect your Dropbox app’s performance indeed. Have you tried using selective sync to remove some large folders from the Dropbox app, that you don’t need to sync locally?
Does this seem to help at all?
Can you also send a screenshot of what you see in your Bandwidth settings?
