The 3-day Syncing Fever on MAC 12.6 w 4TB
First off, I am indebted to Dropbox as it saved me last year when our house was hit by lightning. I had everything on DB for travel convenience (travel laptop vs tower) so I lost nothing. It took 5 days to resync but I was grateful to have nothing lost.
About once per month, my DB gets sick and cannot get out of bed. It just lays there and says it is syncing 4000 files. So, I leave the MAC on by turning off the energy usage limits and let it do its thing. The next day it comes back and says it is now syncing 281k files! (This makes zero sense as I changed maybe 5 files yesterday.) Thus, it appears to be getting worse. I can still open individual files but I cannot generate links to folders for my collaborators. This is very annoying and that is one of the things I used to love about DB! I'm only using 700G out of 4TB SS memory.
From past experience, I know it will be all better in a few days and my best friend again. Is there anything I can do to stop these fevers/hangovers?

Hey Mark Kroll, thanks for posting on our Community and happy Monday.
Just to make sure we're on the same page, can you send us a screenshot of the app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar?
Also, have you checked this Help Center article yet?
Any additional information is more than welcome, Mark.

Dropbox Staff using the name "Rebecca" told me that the issue was me having > 300k files in sync status so I moved a bunch to Online only. Hopefully that will help. Seems faster on bootup for sure. It is a bit frustrating since some old files are not coming up in my Mac Finder now but I can go online to find them. IF, I remember that they exist.
I will definitely send a screen shot if this occurs again.
Mark
