Unexpected error when trying to save directly to Dropbox from email on my iPhone

Hi All,

I’m trying to save direct to Dropbox from email from iPhone and getting the following error “Unexpected error: we encountered an error and could use your help. Please contact support and tell us what you were doing when this error occurred.”

Any help much appreciated

Sorry for the delay here, Airy.

Can I ask for one more thing? Can you send me a screenshot of the last screen you're in, before the error message comes up?

Because I'm trying to recreate this with my device and it works fine for me, so I want to see if we're missing something.

    Thanks!

Hey Airycleere , thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Can you tell where this error is coming from? Dropbox or your email app?

If you can send us a screenshot, it would be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Hannah, think it’s coming from Dropbox. Can I send screenshots on this forum? Don’t see the function.

Yes, absolutely! When you click on the "reply" button, you should see a little camera icon right above the reply box, to attach your screenshot.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the screenshot, Airy!

I'm not entirely sure it's coming from Dropbox, though, so would you mind guiding me through the steps you're following up until you encounter this error?

Hi Hannah, thanks for looking into this.

I used to be able to open an attachment in gmail and click the download box and then it would ask my if I wanted to save to account or share file via. When I click save to account it then shows my Dropbox box and my one drive . It allows me save into my one drive but when I try save to Dropbox it shows me that error.
    Thanks

Hi Airycleere , I hope it’s OK to jump in, too.

If possible, can you try the same steps with another Gmail attachment and let me know if the same error pops up each time?

Also, what’s the approximate size of the file you’re trying to save to Dropbox from Gmail?

    Hi Hannah

It happens with every attachment, even very small sizes.

    Any ideas?
