"Waiting to upload..."
It's been happening for several weeks: I attempt to use the Dropbox app (v. 222.2.2, currently) on my Android phone (v. 9, kernel 4.9.112-15805288) to upload photos and it stays on "Waiting to upload...".
I have gone through all the solutions I've found on the forums (clearing cache, logging out and back in, uninstalling and reinstalling the app) but the problem persists.
Transferring data between my mobile device and the central server is one of the main uses for my account (and why I'm paying for the service, which I am thinking of discontinuing if the issues persist--don't get me started on how each update to the web-client makes it more confusing and unusable).

Hey h_john4, thanks for checking in with us.
Have you tried connecting to a different WiFi network or through cellular data?
Give me a nudge whenever you have a moment to check this out. Cheers! - h_john45 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Hi Lusil,
Thank you for the quick response! I apologize that I haven't been as speedy in mine.
On further investigation, it appears to only be an issue when using the cellular network (which, unfortunately, is where I tend to be when needing to upload pictures); when on WiFi the uploads do not hesitate and go through as expected.

If you're using camera uploads to do this automatically, have you made sure to have your cellular data usage enabled?
If you're not using camera uploads or you've checked it already, have you contacted your service provider by any chance? - h_john45 years agoExplorer | Level 3I have been manually uploading the photos through the Dropbox app itself, not using the automatic feature with the camera. Something interesting to note: I switched the view from "list" to "grid" and have not had the problem again.

Interesting finding, h_john4.
Could you make sure that your device and the mobile app are both up to date?
Also, were you able to get in touch with your service provider in the meantime? - h_john44 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Thankfully that spam that just posted reminded me to respond.
The trouble seems to be when I am inside at work uploading over my mobile network, as my work building has a cellular repeater. The problem goes away when I go outside and my phone connects directly to a tower. Downloads are fine via the repeater, but uploads have a problem.
Anyway, I don't believe the fault lies in the app.
