Device: OnePlus 13 Operating System/Browser (if using the web): macOS 26.3.1 (a) (25D771280a) Dropbox App Version (if using the app): 244.4.6580 Syncing Status: Up to date Question or Issue I have the exact same issue as described here: The quality of some of my photos is affected when using camera uploads. | The Dropbox Community I recently got a new phone, the OnePlus 13, and I noticed that some of the images, when uploaded to my Mac with Dropbox, looks extremely blurry. I've been trying to figure out what is going on, but I have not been successful. But today I e-mailed an image to myself that looks sharp on the phone, but horrible after being uploaded with Dropbox, and noticed that the file from Dropbox is 1,3 MB and the one from the e-mail is 3 MB. Uploaded from Dropbox: From my e-mail: I also discovered that if I use Google Photo the quality when downloaded to my Mac is the same as on the OnePlus 13 (and also from e-mail). So I'm wondering about the same thing that wertupo asked in their post: "Is it possible that Dropbox is 'rushing' to snap the photo up to upload before the phone has had the time to process it? Hence the bad quality?"43Views0likes3CommentsProblems uploading many files at once when using an Android.
Device Pixel 9a Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 16 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) Latest on play Syncing Status NA What I am trying to do: I make a new folder on my dropbox. Then I select "upload", "files". I navigate to my local folder on android which contains 3000 pictures. I press "select all", and "select". I now expect all files to be uploaded to my Dropbox folder. what happens: dropbox shows a popup with "preparing to upload". This dialog will animate for a minute or so. Then the app reloads and shows my root Dropbox folder. expected behaviour: files uploading to my Dropbox folder more stats: over 1 terabyte free space. Total upload size is less than 30 GB.61Views0likes3CommentsIs there a dynamic algorithm to keep files local?
I use Dropbox across two desktops, one laptop and an Android phone, primarily for synching, less for sharing. On the laptop, I would like to store all files locally that were opened in the last 12 months, on any connected device. Is that possible?49Views0likes2CommentsFile request looks and acts differently
Device Android Question or Issue Within the past 6 months, has Dropbox changed the way users upload files through file requests? It seems way more difficult now. The screen acts like we are on a computer. I have to choose the option to upload from computer. Then I have to find my camera. Lastly, I have to actually keep the window open until all the files have downloaded. I do not remember having to do that before. I thought maybe I was in desktop view and that was the reason, but that did not make a difference. I am feeling it will very cumbersome to ask someone to upload pictures just to turn around and tell them to do it again because they have to keep their window open.Solved105Views0likes3CommentsFiles are waiting to be uploaded on Android but never do
Question or Issue I typically send files from my Android phone to my Windows PC using Dropbox, sending them to the Sent folder. I do this by using the Share feature on file manager app. Today, it’s not working. Dropbox says “Uploading to Dropbox . . . 3 files will upload in the background,” but it never uploads. When I open the Sent folder in Dropbox, I see the files, the names greyed out, with each one saying “Waiting to Upload.” I tried clearing the cache in the Dropbox app, restarting my phone, and trying again with fewer files (3, instead of 7), but the same thing happens. I checked the system status on Dropbox’s website, and it shows no current issues. Web searches on the topic list lots of possibilities, but are no help in determining which one is my issue (most of them, I can tell, are definitely not). Anyone know what’s going on, or how I can debug this?204Views0likes8CommentsThe quality of some of my photos is affected when using camera uploads.
Device Oneplus 13 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 16, OxygenOs 16.0.2 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 454.2.2 Syncing Status OK Question or Issue When dropbox automatically uploads newly captured photos by my phone and uploads them to the 'Camera Uploads' folder, I am noticing that some* (NOT ALL) photos are being uploaded with a lesser quality. Resolution of the photo is the same, but the file size is significantly smaller, sometimes 60% less, and the picture quality is visibly very hazy. Is there some setting which I am not finding to fix this? *Some photos meaning that for example if I am out taking a set of say 10 photos, #1,#2 would upload with original quality/file size, while #3,#4,#5 will upload with lesser quality/file size, #6 with original, #7,#8#9 with lesser, and #10 with original quality. It's super random.499Views1like11CommentsI need to save my Android photos to Dropbox directly as .jpg not .jpeg.
Hi all, As of a few days ago I finally figured out a great solution to my workflow by using an Android phone to take my pictures directly into Dropbox as Android creates .jpg file extensions which is the only extension a few of my other online systems accept. After checking the process again yesterday, I noticed that right clicking on the image to get the direct link now produces a .jpeg extension in the URL and is now unusable. This literally happened within a week of me figuring out the perfect flow. Now, I am back to square one sadly. I am hoping someone out there knows the answer. Many thanks!Solved4.5KViews0likes12CommentsHow can I force the mobile app to upload photos on Android?
Device Google Pixel 8 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) macOS 15.6 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 454.2.2 Syncing Status Up to date Question or Issue I am re-using the same question title as a question I found from seven years ago. I am experiencing the same issue as the original poster. I take a photo on my phone, and it does not immediately sync to Dropbox. I am on wifi on my phone, and I don't have any settings limiting upload to certain battery percentages. On my computer it says "Your files are up to date." I can open the app on my phone, navigate to the Camera Uploads folder and pull down to "force a refresh" but it does nothing. Going to the Photos tab at the bottom is even more useless, because you can't pull to refresh. I have to wait hours or days for it to decide to sync, which is frustrating when I want the photo on my computer immediately. I don't have any other apps that sync files or photos from my phone. When I go into the camera settings in the Dropbox app, I can even see the most recent photo (the one that won't sync) in the preview, it just does not show up in my Dropbox!172Views0likes4CommentsHow to disable the automatic saving of my smartphone screen captures into Dropbox ?
Hi, I'm not finding How I can deactivate the automatic saving of my smartphone (Android) screen captures into my dropbox app. I have dropbox basics offer. Can someone help ? Catherine. Hello, We used to be able to set a password or expiry time for shared files and folders in Dropbox Family. Now this this has been disabled with a prompt to upgrade to "Dropbox Professional". Have certain features been removed from the Dropbox Family plan ? Given that I'm on a "Grandfathered" plan (not sure that's the right word), I have not been notified that any features had been removed. I paid annually and assumed features would remain the same. Dropbox doesn't publicly list the Dropbox Family plan anymore, even though it's listed publicly. Thanks in advance.572Views1like6Comments
