When I copy links to use, they no longer work. It comes up without the proper files.
When i try to copy links now, they no longer work. It comes up with an error message saying it wasn't copied correctly. I am doing the process as always, but for some reason it's not working now. Help!

Hi SMS2022, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are you copying the links from the Dropbox site, or via the Dropbox desktop application in Explorer/Finder?
This will help me to assist further!

They are files saved to my desktop and I need to copy the link and send through Outlook. It's always worked in the past. Not sure what is different.

Could you clarify how you 'copy the links' of files on your desktop? Are you attaching files to emails directly, or trying to create shared links?
Any screenshots you can provide would be helpful!

I have the same problem... I've been sending Dropbox links for years and the links no longer work UNLESS I use the Share Feature from Dropbox. I'd prefer to copy the link and send it via email like I always have.
Here's the exact method I've been using for years (but no longer works):
Dropbox Web version:
1. I right click the folder I need a link for, then select "Copy Link" from the popup menu, and then I paste the link into an email. The users can't open the file.
2. Now that I'm aware of this ongoing issue, I can usually discern that the link won't work because the link text includes file names. Links that work don't usually include folder / file names.
Dropbox Desktop Folders/Files:
1. I quit copying links from my Dropbox Desktop folders as the links copied from there (using the same method as above) NEVER work as they always include folder / file names.

Hey kdurkin, sorry to hear about this.
Can you please confirm that using these steps works fine for you?
Thanks!
