When I re-installed the app I was not able to copy dropbox links anymore.

I have my own dropbox and I have a shared folder that we use for work. I cannot copy dropbox links from either one. We recently had some issues where dropbox was deleting everything out of our shared folder. We got this issue resolved but dropbox asked us to delete and re-install. When I re-installed I was not able to copy dropbox links anymore.

Hey Ashley SYC, welcome to our Community!

If I understand this correctly, it sounds like you're trying to copy shared links, using the desktop app, right?

Have you tried the website, as a test, to check if this works?

As for the app, do you get any errors, or not seeing the option at all there?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan! Yes I am using the desktop app, and in the finder, when I crtl + click (left click) the option to copy the dropbox link does not come up at all.

Hey Ashley SYC, do you notice the same behavior when using our website?

Could you please clarify your device's OS version and the version and status of the desktop app as shown in your system tray as well?

If you could also send us a screenshot of what options you're seeing when you right click on your files in the Dropbox folder, I'd appreciate it.

Hi Megan, no it looks like when I go on the website and right click a file, the option to copy link does come up. However, when i right click a file in the finder, the option does not come up. (please see screenshots). My OS version is: macOS Sonoma 14.1. Looks like I am using Dropbox: v194.4.6267

Hey Ashley SYC, thanks for the additional info and the screenshots.

From the screenshots I can see that there are no Dropbox options in your right-click menu at all and you don't have syncing icons on your files in the Dropbox folder either.

Is it possible that the Dropbox app is not currently running?

Except for the Dropbox version, what's the sync status of the app, when you hover over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar?

Hi Hannah, when I hover over the dropbox icon in the upper right menu bar, it says "Up to date".

Hey Ashley SYC - sorry to jump in and thanks for the clarification.

Could you let us know if you see any syncing icons on your files in the Dropbox folder and if you get any Dropbox related options when you right click on them?

Also, have you rebooted your computer since you first noticed this?
