Why can users see my whole dropbox when I share just one folder link with them?

I have recently learned that when I share a folder with anyone, they can see all the folders and files in my Dropbox. How can I limit this so that people only see the folder I share with them?

If you've linked to a folder, they can see anything in the folder, including any sub-folders.     This would only apply to a shared folder; not a share link. Share links do not provide modify access at all. They are, by nature, view-only.

no one will be able to see any parent or siblin folder except you if you're logged in

to test the link open it in incognito mode and you'll see completey different view

 

don't forget to remove remove the sharing link after you finish and choose the can view permission only if you don't wants others to change the contents
