Why can't we still open shared links directly via the desktop app on macOS?

NancyI have been using Dropbox on and off for a long time, at least 10 years. It was definitely an integration in the infancy of the product certainly on the mac OS. I am almost convinced it was a feature in the early days. I have come back to using Dropbox over the last few years and this functionality has disappeared.
I would be keen for you to investigate with the development team when this was removed and why?

I'm not going to lie, I also don't personally recall our shared links working that way. In any case, we're always looking for new opportunities to improve.
