A team says they're running out of quota when they upload to my account
Plenty of space but Dropbox keeps telling my team that THEY'VE run out of space when they try and upload files to my Dropbox. What is going on?

If you intend to have a large shared folder, between different Dropbox accounts, then you need a plan on each account that can accommodate the folder if the Basic plan isn't enough. Usually the normal Dropbox Plus plan is enough for most users.
You can have users directly upload to your account, without it affecting the quota on their account using file requests.
It is also possible to earn free quota using referrals, so it isn't necessary to upgrade your account if need be.

This is the message the team gets.
I have used 1.3 GB of my 2GB plan but that doesn't make sense as I deleted masses of files the other day.

As far as I know they're clicking and dragging.

If you have a shared folder, it takes up quota for each member. If their account is full, then they can't add files into the shared folder, even if you have enough space.
From the sounds of it, you have enough quota, but they don't have free quota.

So, I'm forced to upgrade to whatever the largest plan is of someone on my team?

Clicking on the upload button/file. Selecting the file and pressing 'Open' apparently.
