Data backup and durability
What is the data durability and backup (N, N+1, N+2, ...) provided for different Dropbox tiers?

When your sync a file with Dropbox how did it get saved? What are the tech specs behind that?

When you save something, it becomes locally - like in any other folder on your machine.

Tech specs? 🤔 Just type something like "data synchronization" in your favorite search engine and see... By the way, the Dropbox application is responsible for whatever you will read.

I don't think you understand my question. Or your don't know.
Once again my question is what is the implementation behind Dropbox. Do they follow Raidz2 for example with n number of back ups? If so, what are the specs of that implementation?- Здравко2 years agoLegendary | Level 20
Yes, you are correct - I don't know. I read literally your question for backups - not as a technology to save data. Almost certainly nobody here can comment your question - it something Dropbox proprietary/confidential.
PS: You don't need such kind of specs since you don't have an option to touch so deep. As a client you can use either Dropbox Web site, Dropbox application (desktop or mobile), or some third party application. As developer (if this is the context) you can use Dropbox API (either direct or using provided SDKs). No way to get to underlying system, so even if you have some specs they would be useless. Even more - the underlying system can change over time.
