Dropbox is full

Hi guys
A bit of help if you could please
My Dropbox is now full and I’m being asked to buy more space
I mainly use it to send multiple images to models after photo shoots and once they’ve downloaded what they want I then delete the folder after a while
I hadn’t realised that the shared folders were taking up my space as well,so I now have many shared folders that are clogging up the space
I’ve tried to delete them but nothing seems to be happening…..how do I get rid of all these folders to free up space?
  • Thanks for the screenshot, GedC.

Your space should be freed up on our site immediately after removing your access from the folders.

Can you please check if there are still any folders in your "Shared" tab here?

And you can use the steps here to remove your access from the folders.

    Hi Mark
Thanks for that…..I’m away from my computer at the moment but I’ll look into that and let you know

    Hi Mark

Apologies for the delay.....I've been away

I seem to be struggling to get rid of things.....I found there were loads of things in the 'Shared' section so I have been going through them and unsharing them....then going to the 'Deleted files' section and permanently deleting those........after doing that it's telling me two different things.....on the one hand it says I'm using 1.8 of 2GB...and on the other hand it says I've used 128% of my limit.......so not sure where to go from here.

    Hi GedC, happy Monday!

You mentioned that you see two different quota numbers. Can you send me a screenshot of your plan page, in order for me to have a visual of what you see there?

    Keep me posted!

    Hi Megan

Photo attached to show what I see on the plan page

Most of my plan is taken up with shared files although I had been deleting the original folders

I have deleted quite a lot of these at the weekend.......I looked for additional info and it was suggested they could be held in the cache......will that automatically clear itself out?I read somewhere that it would after 3 days.
