Getting a "you're out of space" email notification

I keep getting emails and notifications claiming that I've reached my 2gb storage limit. Upon checking the contents of my dropbox account, the files total up to just over 3mb. So, Dropbox, what the hell kind of scam are you running here?

Take a look at your Plan page. What does it show for your usage? Take a screenshot if you can, please. It would look like this:

Also, have you checked your Backups page?

Ok, I've found what's taking up all the space. Dropbox has spontaneously backed up game data that it shouldn't have. Now it won't let me delete that data. Every time I click delete it opens up the app, where it only gives me the option to view back up files, which then just opens up the same list of files that started this circular mess. I've paused the backup so it won't add anything else, but it still won't let me delete what's already backed up.

So you're not able to delete your backed up folders from the backups page Toruse?

Does the issue persist even after accepting all cookies on the page?

Are you able to navigate the desktop app's preferences to check your backups tab?

I received a message that I was running out of Dropbox space and was offered a couple of options.  I chose the $199 option (charge is on my credit card statement), but when I tried to download a file, it said I was out of space.  I should have plenty of space . . . . .

Take a look at your Plan page. What play does it say you're on, and what does your usage show? Provide a screenshot if you can.
