Kicked from shared folder

It looks like I've been kicked from a shared folder for not having enough storage. I have the standard 2GB free storage plan I also have a shared folder I used to have access to which was around 2...

    Dropbox doesnt kick you from a share when you are over quota. Dropbox just stops you syncing updates and new files. If you have been kicked from the share a person within that share has actively done it - i.e. they have gone and removed you themselves. 

     

    As you have been removed tat is why you cannot see the option to rejoin. The only way to now rejoin is ask somebody to reinvite you.

Thanks for the response Mark. Are you sure this is the case? I upgraded to a higher data trial and i could access the folder again without having to request for folder access.

Might this be something like I was accidentally kicked and immediately reinvited?

 

also just to clarify, i DID have the option to rejoin, it's just that when i pressed it, it said i didn't have enough storage.

Hi

Yes I am certain that Dropbox does not kick you from a share when you are at quota. 

 

HOWEVER the difference in being not able to rejoin due to quota is different to not able to join because its not there. This is well documented - if you do not have enough space in your account you cannot join (or re-join) a share. The error message you'll get when trying will tell you how much extra quota you need not how much in total you need.
