No additional space on Business Advanced anymore.
Dear community,
I'm here to advice that the support have been denying us additional space for two weeks, first telling us that there was a momentary problem, then that we had made a request before ...

Will you be offering full refund for all months that we've been subscribed with this "as much storage as you need" principle?
We've been migrating to your cloud for few months now, patiently waiting for our storage quota to be extended when you've told us we needed to wait.
Now, we are not done migrating and we need to migrate once again from Dropbox to new service because of your policy change - this is riddiculous.

I offered to support before moving to dropbox.
Spending a lot of time on dropbox. Now have to move.
I will probably also ask for a full refund.
Previously dropbox support also told me this. But I still hope to wait to continue

sphensilhagen For account-specific questions, we would need to speak to you in a support ticket. I can reach out to you via email or, if you prefer, you can contact us via the Support page.
Niitr0 Correct, existing users will keep their current storage and will be able to add on storage in November. The price of $10/month per TB will increase your storage with a monthly billing cycle that will renew automatically. It will not expire after a month, and you will be able to purchase more space as needed up to the account limit of 1000TB.
Colek and VM Khan Refund inquiries and requests need to be made via Dropbox Support. I can reach out via email to open a Support ticket, or you can contact Dropbox Support directly if you prefer.
- Niitr03 years agoExperienced | Level 12Ok, it's clearer, so how does the payment go for the 5TB? Is it a second billing?

Is the 35 TB Limit applied per User ?
Example: I got 3 Users. Lets say one User has a usage of 5TB, one of 60TB and one of 30TB.
Will this be a Problem, because one User Is overutilising the storage or am I free to distribute the Storage ( in this case 35TB x3 = 105TB) between the users as I like?
And what will happen with Accounts using more than this storage quota? The Blog Post Is a bit vague. Will it be possible to downsize below said storage quota to be eligble for the 35TB per user plus 5TB? - DBXCommunity3 years ago

Hi Niitr0,
The additional 5TB of pooled storage is provided at no extra charge to your current plan, up to a maximum of 5 years.

Hi Thunder1
Storage is pooled in the Dropbox Advanced plan. We determine whether you are above or below the 35TB/license threshold as an average usage, meaning it is calculated as Terabytes per License rather than assigning a TB amount to individual users.
There are two major differences in being above or below this 35TB/license threshold:
- Accounts above 35TB/license will receive 1 year of an additional 5TB of pooled storage on their account. Accounts below this threshold will receive this 5TB for 5 years.
- A team member at Dropbox will contact you to discuss the range of options for your business or organization's storage needs if your account is above 35 TB/license

Hi MrLeoSir,
We will begin migrating existing Advanced accounts to the new policy on November 1. We will notify users at least 30 days before this migration begins.
- Thunder13 years agoHelpful | Level 5@DBXCommunity
Just to clarify : Does 35TB per License mean 35TB per User license or per Account license? So if I have 3 Users in my Account , is this one license or 3 licenses?
You said 5TB for one year if I am over this 35TB and 5TB for 5 years if I am under.
Does this also apply for my "regular" storage quota? Or will I be able to keep my already granted storage quota the "Plan" Page in my Account is showing me?
Or just the already occupied storage? Or none of it?
Thats not clear to me. - MrLeoSir3 years agoHelpful | Level 6
so If I understand you correctly, we will not charged more for 100TB for 5 years if we have that?
- Shamrock223 years agoHelpful | Level 7
If "old Accounts" are under the 35TB per User-Limit are we allowed to expand our storage to those 35TB per User or are we stuck with the capacity we already have at this point? This question is important for our business. If we are stuck with what we've already got at this point then this ain't a good deal for us anymore unfortunately.

Hey @DBXCommunity,
Let's say I have 300 TB of total quota on my Dropbox Advanced plan right now, with 3 licenses.
Can you please explain what changes will happen?
To my understanding, I fall under the > 35 TB/license bracket so:- I will only get 5 TB more next year. So basically my quota will become 305 TB.
- To increase storage further up to 1 PB, I have to pay $10/month for 1 TB or add licenses for 5 TB.
What I don't know for sure is if after 1 year will I drop down to 5 TB/license? It is not clear based on the blog announcement whether the 5 TB increase is for one year or if my existing quota is valid for one more year. I hope it's not the case that I will lose my storage and you're applying this change retroactively.
Thank you.

Hi Everybody,
Thanks for your questions. I'd like to refer back to our blog post to answer your questions:
Starting today, customers who purchase a Dropbox Advanced plan with three active licenses will receive 15TB of storage space shared by the team... Each additional active license will receive 5TB of storage.
For the less than 1% of customers utilizing 35TB or more of storage per license, we’re committed to working with you. To make this transition easier, you’ll be able to continue utilizing your current storage amount at the time you’re notified, plus an additional 5TB credit of pooled storage for one year (up to 1,000TB total), at no additional charge to your existing plan. You’ll be contacted by our team in the coming weeks to discuss a range of options for getting the storage that you need for your business or organization.
ButIfOnly MrLeoSir 5TB per license will apply to Dropbox Advanced plans purchased starting today. This limit will not be imposed on existing Dropbox plans when they are migrated to the new storage policy. However, if you are over this 35TB/license threshold, a Dropbox team member will be reaching out to discuss storage options moving forward.
Shamrock22 The determination of whether you are at or below 35TB/license will be made based on your usage.
An active user is a person who regularly logs in and uses their Dropbox account.
Thunder1 Each active user corresponds to a license. In an Advanced account, the number of users and the number of licenses is the same. Editing to add: You can verify your storage usage through the Admin console within your Dropbox account or by contacting your Dropbox account manager.

DBXCommunity I think what people are trying to figure out is what happens after 1 year if you have more than 35TB/license and what happens after 5 years if you have less? Is it just that accounts will have to buy more space or will the accounts be locked/closed in some manner?

Hi Eldon McGuinness,
For accounts with 35TB/license or more, Dropbox will reach out to those users to discuss a range of options for meeting their storage needs. In other words, we will provide options to users via individual outreach.
I do not yet have information on how our storage policy for existing Advanced accounts may change after 5 years given the extended time frame. I will provide an update when I know more.

DBXCommunity Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately, in a professional environment, this type of uncertainty is just not acceptable. Nothing personal of course, but I think those of us who have been waiting for quite a while for a resolution/update on this should be able to get more information sooner rather than later. It is impossible to run a business that relies on storage and its availability when your storage provider is being cagey and unclear as to what the future holds.
Is it possible to get a general idea as to the options that are available to both parties? I do realize that there will be customization for different accounts based on needs and budgets, but the idea of "wait and see" for any information at all is just too much when it comes to this business sector. Data is far too valuable and important to have it sitting on the precarious edge of wait and see.
I hope you can understand where your customers are coming from and the impatience that is stemming from this enduring issue.

HWG-1 Apparently not.
DBXCommunity Can we then add storage as we all want by being charged €10/to with the limit of 1 pb that's right, I understand?
- Rootax3 years agoHelpful | Level 7Sooooo I've one year to increase my internal storage solution, got it.

I have to say while i sort of understand that dropbox has had an influx of high useage clients changing the terms is very unfair in some cases
Now i use alot of space about 500TB for client backups ect i was on google until they changed the terms and i moved
I do not have media etc on there it is all clients backups encrypted
When i came to dropbox before signing up i contacted support and was Very clear with them i told them i had about 500TB on google and would move it to dropbox and was this allowed or would it cause issues i was told No it is fine to do this
We have fully moved here a while back now and use about 450 to 500 it changes as new backups are made and old ones deleted
i have 5 users on my account at this time so now the limit for me will be 35 x 5 it seems very wrong knowing i clearly asked support before moving here and was very clear on how much data i had to move.
- Niitr03 years agoExperienced | Level 12Why 35x5 and 5x5? What are you talking about, storage?

Niitr0 Helpusersplease You can still request additional storage until you move to the new plan, at which point you can purchase storage add-ons. At that time, you will be able to purchase pooled storage up to the account limit of 1000TB (or 1 PB) at $10/month billed monthly or $8/month billed annually.
haldb You will keep your current storage quota regardless of whether you are above or below 35TB per license, up to an account maximum of 1000TB. If you are above 35 TB per license, you’ll be contacted by our team in the coming weeks to discuss a range of options for getting the storage that you need for your business or organization.
- ggtello3 years agoHelpful | Level 6BenDBX can you explicates this "If you are above 35 TB per license, you’ll be contacted by our team in the coming weeks to discuss a range of options for getting the storage that you need for your business or organization."
Do you mean that we can't remain with our current storage quota? - HWG-13 years agoCollaborator | Level 10As I understand it, for the transitional period. From 09.2023 write the Support with you, when you more than 35 TB Storage per license. But that takes time to write to everyone. As long until then there will be no restrictions.
