Can one upgrade from Dropbox Advanced to Dropbox Business Plus?

On this Dropbox help article it says:

Can I migrate an existing team to Dropbox Business Plus?

Yes, you can switch from your current plan to Dropbox Business unless you’re an existing Dropbox customer on one of the following plans:
  • Dropbox Standard
  • Dropbox Advanced
  • Dropbox Enterprise

Does this mean that if you have a team on a Dropbox Advanced plan, you are not able to upgrade to Business Plus at all? So you would need to create a new Dropbox account, and manually migrate over the data and accounts? Why can you not upgrade seamlessly from Advanced to Business Plus, seems very stupid?

For what it's worth, when I go to Admin section and Billing, unlike what is described in the article above, it does seem to allow me to upgrade from Advanced to Business Plus - but I have not yet tried making that upgrade, but it goes as far as showing the prorated amount and a new Business Plus subscription starting if I were to click Confirm changes.

Please advise.

  • If it's giving the option to do so, I'd say yes, it will work - it's just an administrative change more than anything else. My guess here is the help article is outdated (which is quite common)

Yeah, I can confirm upgrading from Advanced to Business Plus worked fine.

The help article was clearly outdated.
