Not really out of storage...
I keep getting messages that I am out of storage, but when I look at my files, they represent less than half of my limit (if I include the entirety of shared files). I have no backups that I'm aware of (or can access). I've been using the web browser rather than the app, on a Mac OS26.3 (although I have also been using web interface with a PC at work).
I'm on the free plan.
I was an early adopter of DropBox, and an early evangelist. My problems with storage are changing my mind.

Can you post a screen shot of what you see at http://www.dropbox.com/home and also http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan ?

When I'm on
https://www.dropbox.com/home, it lists all the files and their size. I just added those up. Not so hard to do, as there are four folders with large-ish video files, two other folders, and 11 very small documents. Thanks for puzzling this through with me. I'm baffled.

As I do the math, I have less than 1.5 GB of files, including the single shared folder.
How are you working that out? As you dont have it installed anywhere there isnt an easy way to see that bar the Quota page I've already sent. So, somewhere on your account you have some large files.
You can use this article to order folders by file size which may help.

Well that's encouraging! The account is basic, and says I am using 3.48 GB of a 3.2 GB quota. The backups tab says "No backups here at the moment." As I do the math, I have less than 1.5 GB of files, including the single shared folder.

Ive never ever known the space message to be wrong.
What is http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan showing?
Have you checked backups at http://www.dropbox.com/backups ?
Any shares? Remember they use quota as well.
