Suddenly I'm over by 3.5GB when it comes to storage.

Hi Megan, I'm all set. By your suggestion of going to the events page, I was able to go to the person that uploaded to a shared folder, ask them to totally remove my access and re-do my access to only the parts of that folder that I need. Done. I'm back down to around 3 of my 6GB capacity.
One thing I didn't understand along the way was, on the page that describes how to temporarily remove my access, it says...log in, hover over the folder, click the elipsis, and click delete. That actually deleted the file completely. Glad I tested it first. Seems like I misunderstood the instruction but it seemed straight forward. Thanks for your help!

You likely became a member of the folder before it had 7GB of data in it, allowing it to fit within your account, then data was added that exceeded your limit.
Would you explain the difference between these folders, the ones in red (can't access) and the grey one with 7GB?
The folders you can't access haven't been added to your account yet because you don't have enough space.
What happens if I click "remove me" on one of the ones that show the size in red? Can I eventually get access again if I remove myself from enough other folders?
If you remove your access and later want it back, you would need to be invited again by the owner of the folder (or another member that has the ability to invite).

Thanks so much, Rich and Megan. Is there a way that I can find out what triggered this, since it happened just over a week ago? I checked under recent stuff and the most recent was in January. That doesn't make sense to me. I wonder if I can just reverse whatever happened and go back to the way it was?

You should be able to have a look at what happened in terms of additions, deletions etc when checking your events page Mark R.76.
When you say "reverse whatever happened" do you mean in terms of your account's space, the addition of content to the account?
I'm asking, because you should be able to remove content, and bring your account's quota down.

Hi Megan. You're very helpful. The events page, I had no idea. I think I see it, on 3/1 some files were added to a shared folder within a folder. Is it possible to remove my access to just that particular folder within a folder and get that storage back, without affecting the folder's contents for others who have access? I can right click on it and I see "manage permissions". There I see I'm one of the group that can edit the folder but there's no drop down by my name in order to change anything. Is it that or is there another way to remove me? Thanks!
