2 years agoHey Shreyassv, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community.
When you say that the app is trying to copy all the files to a locally created Downloads folder, where was this folder created? In your Dropbox folder?
Also, are you able to access your backup online through this page as normal?
Let me know what you find.

I had reached out to Dropbox support chat, where I was told to delete the backup. Which I did.
I can see the my Mac folder and the download folder inside it online and in my iPhone Dropbox app.
The new folder was created in the original location- users/username/download
A few years back, I had moved the downloads folder completely to Dropbox .
Now, I cannot find the my Mac folder in my MacBook Dropbox folder.
The download folder was recreated under my username and the files inside Dropbox/my Mac /downloads are being copied over to users/user name/download.
Due to space constraints, this process keeps stalling and Dropbox stops working .

Hey there from me, Shreyassv!
You mentioned that you've already contacted our Support team. Can you send me the ticket number reference, in order for me to be able to locate the email on our system, please?
Also, just to confirm: you can't locate your My Mac folder in its original location, inside your Dropbox folder, but you are able to locate it under users/username/download?
If you have any available screenshots, feel free to send them over, in order for me to have a clear visual too.
Thanks a bunch!

The my Mac/downloads is still visible on my iPhone and online.
But has disappeared on my MacBook .
A folder was recreated on users/username/downloads
And all my files from the old my Mac/downloads is being copied over to the newly created users/username/download
Due to lack of space on my drive, this keeps stopping and Dropbox also stops syncing.- Nancy2 years ago

Hey Shreyassv, sorry to jump in. Since you already have an open ticket with our support team, I’d suggest continuing with them directly; as they have account visibility on their end, they’ll be able to see more details on what’s happening exactly.
I’ve located your ticket in our system, and left an internal note for you, as well. Feel free to respond back to our support agent, and they’ll further help.
