Unexplained storage use
Hi, I got warnings I was running out of storage but couldn't find out why.
I've now deleted all my files and then permanently deleted them, but dropbox still thinks I'm using 1.3Gb of storage!
Why?
Where are all these files it thinks I have and how can I delete them?
I've tried looking online at Settings, Personal Account, but don't seem to have a Plan column, just General then Security etc..
Thanks
In that case, you can have a look at the app's preferences under the Backup tab on your computers to see which one is being backed up jedsters
Let me know if that helps!

Hey jedsters, sorry to hear about this.
Can you try the direct link to navigate to your plan tab?
Also, do you see any folders taking up space in your backups page?
Keep us posted!

Thanks,
It appears I have something in backups of exactly the offending size! It is called simply PC and has a windows logo against it. I tried to delete it and not being sure what it is I selected 'I don't have acess' but I'm then given a message 'To unlink PC, click Settings on dropbox.com, go to the security tab, and sign out of the device '
I'm not quite sure what is going on here. I do have my dropbox account linked to more than one PC.
Thanks!

Do you see the name of the computer you've backed up to your Dropbox account in your Security page under the connected devices section perhaps jedsters?

There are 3 computers listed (or at least their s/n), but there is no indication of which one this 'PC' backup relates to. I'm assuming I've accidentally setup a backup so it is trying to backup my desktop, documents etc. on one of them.
Thanks

Thanks very much! Somehow I had indeed managed to enable backup on one of my PCs. Now that's disabled I've got my space back.
