"Your Dropbox is full" notification but I only have one file in my account
I have deleted all files but one photo on my account. Yet, every day since I still have a notice that my Dropbox is full. And suggesting I upgrade my account. Which I don't need. (MacOS Monterey 12.7.6 user)
Hello all, thanks for your suggestions and assistance. I did manage to delete all unnecessary files. And have paid to increase my capacity as may be needed in future. All is good now. I think.

Just to check, all you can see is one photo at http://www.dropbox.com/home ?
If so have you also checked http://www.dropbox.com/backups ?

Hi Mark, Yes, all I can see is one photo. And I don't think I have any backups. I only deleted everything but the one photo a few days ago. And I think I say a message that all my files would be saved for 30 days before deleting permanently. But I can't find any record of that. Wish I had taken a screen shot.

Have you checked the backups page? Thats the usual culprit.
The other one is any shared folders: http://www.dropbox.com/share
Can you post what you see at http://www.dropbox.com/plans ?

I just found a note saying I deleted a bunch of Dropbox files on August 9, 2025. When I log onto Dropbox now. All I can see is that one photo. It's the continual notification that my "Dropbox is full" that is bugging me.

OK, I've done a search of the Backups page and entered the dates from 5/8/2025 and to 14/8/2025 ... and it's showing all the files I deleted on 9/8/2025. And there's a message:
"You can restore any file deleted in the last 30 days." I selected all and Delete. I can still see them in Deleted Files. When I clicked on one and tried to delete it again I got a message saying "This file has already been purged". I guess I'll log out and log back in to see what happens. - Hannah4 months ago

Hi 6062535,
While you look into this, I'd recommend reading through one of our FAQ pages on this topic.
You will find more information on that page under "My account is empty but Dropbox says it's full".

I think Dropbox uses very shady business practices. After years of paying for service and finding it so difficult to use, I decided to downgrade to the basic free account. To get below the 2GB limit, I delete practically everything I had on the account and now have well below 2GB of files/folders on my Dropbox account now. But, I keep getting (for months now) notices that I have over 17GB of storage on my Dropbox account and that they are limiting my use of the account until I upgrade back to a paid account. Obviously, this is a intentional misrepresentation of the facts and appears to be a fraudulent attempt to coerce me into signing back up for a paid account. So disgusting. I'm so glad to be using Microsoft's OneDrive and Google Drive instead for my online storage needs. Dropbox is technically behind the competition and appears to use sleazy tactics to keep people hostage on their platform.
