I have been using DB for several years without problem. Today I find I cannot open folders in my Dropbox folder on my C: drive with Explorer. I can see them if I use the web app. I have rebooted and ...

I uninstalled Dropbox and then deleted the remaining /App Dropbox folders. That allowed me to access my Dropbox folders on my hard disk. Then reinstalled Dropbox. Seems to be working. Seems like this should be a first suggestion to users with this problem.

I spoke to soon. After reinstalling Dropbox, the problem returned and I cannot access my disk Dropbox folder, except as above (with Powershell).

Could you send us a screenshot of the app's current status as shown in your system tray at the moment topoloco2000?
As for your cache folder, you can take a look here.

Yes, that would be it topoloco2000 - thanks for the screenshot!
Can you also send us a screenshot of the error (or the last screen you can get to) when navigating your Dropbox folder through the Windows File Explorer?

I did that in an earlier message, please check attachments. As I said, NO ERROR msgs, it just won't open the folder. The little hourglass comes up and won't leave.

Hey topoloco2000, if you just close the Dropbox app, does the issue persist? Or do they folders open with the app closed?
And does this happen only with specific folders in your Dropbox folder, or all of them?

If I close the app, ALL of the folders in the /Dropbox folder cannot be accessed. I can open /Dropbox after a long wait, but nothing inside it.

Thanks for clarifying that for us. Are you running any security software like antivirus, firewalls or VPN/proxies by any chance topoloco2000?
