I am having the exact same issue & I did the download weeks ago. I am missing a lot of my files & ALL of my PICTURES. I actually do not remember selecting pictures & so forth to even be transferred just because the new computer that I got was going to be strictly business only. I have tried to look in the deleted files under Dropbox even but there is nothing there. I have to have the files for business, or I will be in some serious trouble. So, if anyone can help with MaggieDad & me please help us in getting our files back & my pictures bc a lot of the pictures I had backed my to laptop I haven't had in years (my 1st born Kindergarten graduation and everything that I can't even get back) so any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!

Hi Shell83, welcome to our Community!
Based on everything that you described, it's not entirely clear to me if you're missing your files from your desktop app, or your account online too.
Would you be able to clarify?
Do you see your files, when you visit your account online?
Let me know more, and we'll jump right into this!

I selected files yes that were on my desktop that are all missing but some files that I had saved on Dropbox to are missing but not as many & some where they transferred but I can't even open & frankly not to sure what they even are, like what files they are type thing.

Would you mind clarifying what you mean by "transfer", Shell83?
Do you mean that when you installed Dropbox on your computer, you chose to sync certain folders during the setup process, but are now unable to see those folders in your local Dropbox folder?
