Dropbox became very slow and freezes after iOS 12 update
After the update to iOS 12 on my iPhone 7 Dropbox started to behave really bad. It freezes very often, minutes of charging time to just show me a portion of the files in the folder I’m working on. Already deleted the app-restarted the phone-reinstalled the app but nothing has changed. It’s impossible to use it via app. On the seme device I can use it via browser and it works perfectly as in the past.
Could you help me?

Quick update on this: it appears that this primarily affects users with many (at least 25 or so) starred files. We have identified the cause and fixed the issue.
The fix will be in Dropbox for iOS v120, going out early next week (around Nov 6).
Thank you very much to those of you who wrote in and contributed by giving detailed descriptions of the issue, and extra thanks to those who sent in videos and crash logs.

Sorry to hear this persists Marcocap!
As a last thing, as our most recent version of the mobile just got out, could you please update to the latest version of the mobile Dropbox app (currently 116.2 for iOS devices) and let me know if you're still experiencing the same problem?
If it persists, please let me know and I'll reach out to you via email to the address you use for your forum's profile to work on this together.
In either case, thanks for your continuous patience and cooperation on this one Marco.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using DB ver 116.2. iOS ver 12.0.1 on an iphone 8 plus. I tried clearing the cache per Walter's suggestion, but the always freezes up after pushing that button.

I deleted and reinstalled the app and it seems to be working better for the time being.

Glad to hear that aarondeee - please keep us posted on this matter.
Should you need anything else in the meantime, please let me know and have a lovely weekend!
- Jonreid8 years agoNew member | Level 2I’ve had all the issues since the iOS update and none of the solutions suggested here have helped. Has Dropbox been tested with the latest update?

Hey there Jonreid - sorry to hear that.
If you have already updated our app's version (it's 116.2 for iOS users) while also making sure you've logged out and in again after clearing your app's cache, I would suggest that you logged a ticket with our support team so we can look into this internally with all of our tools available.
In any case, let me know how it goes and happy Monday!
- Jonreid8 years agoNew member | Level 2Thanks for the reply. I tried all the suggested methods here and none worked. I then found a solution that worked for me suggested in an iOS forum. Add Dropbox to the Files app. I’m not sure why that works, but Dropbox is now working like it did in the good old days.

Dear Walter,
Unfortunately, Dropbox is still not working on mobile even updating it to the last version.
After the update, I even tried to redo all the passages you suggested: clearing cache - logging out - uninstall - restart - reinstall - re-login.
I did it also after updating to iOS 12.0.1 but there is nothing to do...
I hope you will be able to help!
Thank you,

Is it just slow or crashing Marcocap?
In any case, could I reach out to you via email to the address you use for your forum's profile so as to have a more in-depth look into this with all of my tools available?
If you'd like to do this from your end, you can log a ticket with our team and let me know the ticket ID so I can get on it.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience so far!
