3 months agoHey there Davidi1, welcome to our Community!
The first thing here is to ensure that our desktop app is updated. It seems there's a latest version that you can install. There's no need to uninstall, just use this link to reinstall our app.
Also, do you happen to have any 3rd party apps that might be monitoring, backing up or syncing your files that are running on your computer? You might need to keep an eye for iCloud in particular.
If you don't mind, you could also try creating a new OS profile on your computer and trying to install and run the Dropbox desktop app there.
One last thing: if you quit the Dropbox desktop application entirely, is it still slow when opening folders within the Dropbox folder itself?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Thanks, Megan,
As per your advice, I reinstalled and now have the ...5988 build. I’ll monitor the issue.
I don’t have any third-party apps installed, as you mentioned.
Before creating a new profile, I’ll continue monitoring this version.
As for your last question: no slow behavior was detected after quitting.

Hey Davidi1, thanks for the swift reply!
Definitely keep an eye out on it. If you notice the same slow behavior, try the new OS profile and see if things improve.
In any case, don't hesitate to update me!

Just to clarify: the issue is Dropbox APP freezing (not responding), which is only temporarily resolved by restarting Windows.
