DropBox Installer doesn't launch

Hi there,

I am trying to install the dropbox app on my Mac, but whilst the .dmg file is downloaded, when I double-click on it it wouldn't launch.

A bit of context : I have upgraded my computer which is now running under Monterey 12.0.1. before this upgrade DropBox was working fine on my mac. After the upgrade the application wouldn't start. I uninstalled it by putting the dropbox icon in the wastebin.

Precision : I am a user of a business account of which I am not the administrator.

Thank you very much for your help !

Could you try a new OS profile and let me know if you're able to install our desktop app there then MarjoLacherez?

Hi Specialkized, could you clarify the exact behavior you're experiencing when trying to run the installer from the site?

I was having the same problem. After double clicking the installer I expected the usual application icon and application folder to appear, where I can drag the icon to the folder to install it.

That is not what happened however, the dropbox installer appears on the desktop as a disk image but the installation process required me to double click the disk image icon to start the installation.

I just purchased a New Macbook Air running Monterey 12.4.   Apple moved over everything from the old to the new thru Migration Assistant.  I found that the DB on my new Mac was not syncing (I checked the cloud).  I deleted DB on the new computer.  But when I downloaded the DB desktop app, it downloaded but won't install - when I click on the .dmg file nothing happens.

So as a first step what should I do to get it to install properly.

Hey bgrob- sorry to hear about this.

Have you maybe tried rebooting your device? If not, can you give it a go?

If I were you, I'd also uninstall then start from scratch and re-install the app using our offline installer.

    Let me know the results!

When I click on the download, nothing happens.  The installer icon never opens.

I also tried restarting computer and that does not make a difference.

FYI I'm running OS Monterey v12.4

Hi bgrob, could you try redownloading the app via another browser to see if this installer opens normally?
