Hello everyone!
This Dropbox app scaling issue has been brought to my attention. The issue can be resolved by making DPI scaling adjustments directly to the Dropbox application without making the change to your complete system.
Please follow the steps below to make these changes.- Open Windows File Explorer, then copy and paste this file path in the search bar:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client - Right-click on the Dropbox application in this folder
- Select Properties and then click the Compatability tab.
- Select Change high DPI settings
- Check the box labeled Override High DPI scaling behavior
- Then, click the drop down menu and be sure that System (Enhanced) is selected.
- Click Apply to save the changes.
- Restart your machine and open Dropbox from the system tray.

Wow ... same problem here ... this is pretty bad.
Screen resolution is 1366x768 (older laptop). It's the 720 that is causing heartburn, since the Dropbox window pops up off the top. Not usable.
This is really not tenable for a system-level application that folks *depend* on ...

Since you have the same issue as the rest of the users in this thread, have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps mentioned?
Just asking, in order for us to be on the same page here. Also, could you clarify the version of the Dropbox app that you're using on your end?

Yes, and none of them have worked so far. The placement of the window seems to be arbitrary. Since the issue doesn't seem to be occurring on my desktop and from the thread most have indicated that it's on the laptops they are having issues, this seems to be related to how the laptop presents the screen. With many of the newer laptops delivering a higher resolution screen in a small frame (my screen is 14inch), scaling is set by default on many of the laptops so that icons in Windows, etc. will be large enough to see and use. Since Dropbox has not generally had this issue before now, the likely conclusion in that the latest version of Dropbox client doesn't know how to take scaling into account before it places itself on the screen. Since desktops (like my home machine) run at 100% scaling, the display show properly here. I would suggest testing this on the newer laptops with 14 inch screen and perhaps the NVIDIA pro chipset in them. It's likely these will set their scaling at 150% and up by default to ensure readability by the user. Windows 11 automatically adjusts each window based on that setting (expect in expanded desktop mode) where windows can be moved into the next plane and then resized to that resolution and scaling.
