5 years agoIf the Dropbox desktop application is syncing files, even when it is placed into sleep/hibernation, the process would be paused and the app would act like all others, essentially shutting down for the duration.

Today the laptop came back from inspection. They did not find anything wrong with the hardware, the only thing they did was to update BIOS. As soon as I tested putting it to sleep mode, the problem reproduced again.
Do you happen to have any ideas on how to debug this or get information on what exactly causes it. In the event viewer logs I don't see anything that looks interesting to me, I'm not very experienced in reading them though.

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, have you tried an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?- iksa5 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Sorry for the extended delay in my reply, I've been super busy. I now tried this advanced reinstall and it had no effect on the issue.
Even though DropBox being installed or not seems to have somewhat big impact on the probability of the problem occurring, I don't think it is necessarily the whole explanation. Do you happen to have any ideas on how I could get information on what exactly is going on when this happens, or what exactly is the weird state the laptop goes to? I believe that would help in understanding the problem and finding the actual cause.
