Dropbox search not working on Android and iPad OS apps
Hi everyone!
I wonder if you can help me - in the past week, I no longer get search results from using the Dropbox app on both my android phone (app version 302.2.2) and iPad OS (app version also 302.2.2). Is anyone else having a problem? Because it affects both apps on two different platforms, I thought it might be a problem with the Dropbox servers. As you might imagine, it's quite limiting.
I've also just checked on the web version, and search doesn't work there either.
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.
Hey Wisdom Moon, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I've just tested this on my devices and everything seems to work okay on my end.
Have you tried to clear the app's cache from the settings, to see if that helps?
Also, can you describe the behavior a bit more? Meaning, are you searching for file names and are getting a "no results" message?
Or is the page (both on the mobile app and online) just blank?
Keep me posted and we'll go from there.

Hi Hannah,
Thanks for your prompt reply, I cleared the cache on both apps and it's working again now.
Thanks for your help, I'm happy that it's working again.

I was searching for a solution trough this blog and only this topic seems the nearest solution what I’m searching. The difference is the search option in the iOS application while I want to save a file, I must go every time trough all the folders. It would be helpful to have a search function just to speed up sometimes the saving trough the app.
Thanks in advance and my apologies if I could not find an exact topic.
Ivo
