Dropbox support for macOS 12.3
So I'm referring to https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/macos-12-monterey-support
Does this mean it will be 100% safe to upgrade to macOS 12.3 as long as I keep Smart sync to Loc...

You can never ever say its 100% safe - simply because you'd be using a Beta OS and also a Beta version of Dropbox. However, it should work well, but, be cautious of the fact it is beta at all levels.
I know previously at last minute notice Apple have changed how stuff worked in beta versions meaning stuff which used to work no longer did when updated to the next release so thats also something to be aware of.

Megan is there an update on this issue?
I currently have a new Mac, and if there is no timeline yet on when it could be fixed I will consider returning it, but I need to decide that in the next week

4 years agoHi afsd, I hope you don’t mind me jumping in.
I totally understand where you’re coming from.
As Megan mentioned above, the general rollout for full support on macOS 12.5 and higher will start in November. There’s not an exact timeline we can provide at the moment though, I’m afraid.

So, if I understand correctly, the problem with Mac OS will be thoroughly solved by the end of November, and those of us who have been stuck in Mac OS 12.2 and the old version of Dropbox, will be able to update the Mac and Dropbox, and recover the full functions of Dropbox like before?
On the users end, what needs to be done and when?
Thank you for your help!

that is my understanding yes - we are still waiting.
until the new version is released or dropbox outlines a doc that shows us the user experience for the migration to the cloudstorage container i am not sure what the user experience will be like. once again - very little communication.
- Pokapix4 years agoHelpful | Level 6This should have been a top priority to solve and release — I’ve already been forced due for this to change to Microsoft solutions while collaborating with clients, because they gave up on you Dropbox…
At least this will solve my issue, but this is really unprofessional to yet again great Mac users to badly.
One last question, will it work on macOS Ventura?- sphen4 years agoCollaborator | Level 8
The changes in Ventura should not affect dropbox as far as i know. The major change Dropbox is working on is moving to the new cloud storage container.

So... November came but i still see no change.
Anyone else noticed any improved dropbox behaviour in handling online-only files?

Any update on fix for macOS 12.3+ and onwards?
A solution was promised in start of the year, then it changed to November when support finally responded to frustrated customer leaving the sinking digital solution of a ship, and now we are closer to the start of December...
Speak to us! Update us! This is insane we are forced to stick to 12.2 or use a cribbled solution until you put some effort into solving this matter, you've had years prior to fix this, and decided to respond first when it was too late, and then you didn't even manage to fullfil your original promise of a fix early 2022....
And when solved, I really hope you'll inform your customers via email! we shouldn't be the ones doing the effort to see if you finally solved this unprofessional situation you've put our companies in.- cbonargent4 years agoHelpful | Level 7
Here here! We've been patiently waiting because a solution was supposed to be coming.
The least Dropbox can do is to give us an update.- cbonargent4 years agoHelpful | Level 7
I get a pit in my stomach when I think about having to transfer all my digital assets out of Dropbox.
It's been a couple years, and I haven't even finished the full transfer! But since I've done it once, I can do it again.
And find another (maybe better?) way to work.My annual subscription payment is coming up in December and I just don't feel confortable paying so much for a service that doesn't work. As much as I loathe the idea of having to start again elsewhere, I think thats what I'll have to do soon.
It doesn't make sense to be stuck in OS 12.2 indefinitely (especially with a new Mac) with no idea when and if Dropbox will ever work again correctly.
To be ignored by the company this way must mean there are only a handful of users in this situation, or they have either moved on or found another solution.

So we're in late November, can you tell us anything????
