Dropbox update pop-up keeps re-appearing on Windows 11
Help I'm losing my mind I now have 7 pop-ups asking me to install the latest update to Dropbox last month this happened I went to Dropbox/ download reinstalled the entire thing after I uninstalled it and while that solved the issue temporarily it's back again after a new update was released what it looks like is almost a virus but it's not I'll show you the installer screens and they appear to be issued by Dropbox I don't think you can fake that but I'm not 100% sure I have scanned for viruses just as an FYI but since there's no way to reach out to actual Dropbox and tell them that we're experiencing this bug on Windows PC specifically windows 11 its is requesting UAC I say yes ad it will popup again

I'm running Windows 10 but the same thing keeps happening to me. Two blinking Dropbox Update icons appear on my taskbar. Regardless of whether I click on Yes or No, a few days later the popups appear again. And when I clicked Yes, it didn't appear that any updating was performed.

I am also dealing with the same issues. It happens for a while and then goes away. Woke up this morning to 23 blinking update requests.... How can I fix this please?!

Hey Hedrik and anyone else who might still be having this issue, can you please let us know which version of the Dropbox app you're currently using and what the sync status is?
You can see this info by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your system tray.

Using fully updated Windows 11 and Dropbox v. 215.4.7202. I have had this issue repeatedly off and on for several months. A system reboot seems to clear it, but only for a while. Awoke this AM with probably 30 such popup notices I had to clear. Never used to have any such issue. NOT critical but certainly annoying. And an obvious bug that should be addressed.

Hey Greggrz. Since there’s a new Dropbox app version that’s been released, can you make sure your desktop app’s updated to v216.4.4420 and let me know if the issue persists?

Thanks, Nancy. I have updated but ir will be a while until I know for sure the issue is resolved. It was quite sporadic, sometimes going weeks between.

Hi Bia23, is this a personal machine or a company-managed device?
Have you installed the Dropbox desktop application with admin privileges?

Might be related, but for a while now, whenever I start dropbox (v216.4.4420 desktop add, windows 11), I get two (2) db update popups. I accept both and everything is okay.
Still, it happens every time I start the app. I've been running the app on this computer since 2022, and it only started a week ago, maybe two. Not sure, since I only use DB sporadically.
