    Hey guys!

Thanks for showing your interest in Dropbox Vault.

To concentrate our efforts on further improving our existing security features and building new capabilities around advanced data protection, we’ve made the decision to discontinue Dropbox Vault.

From March 4th Dropbox Vault will no longer be available. If you’re currently using your Vault, that folder will automatically turn into a standard Dropbox folder, that doesn’t require a PIN to access. The files in your folder will remain the same.

    I hope this clarifies!

dbox_ Support and people .... what service should I choose to migrate to when you remove this feature I have relied on for years?

This has been a keystone of your product that I have relied on so this is kind of a deal breaker.

Worst decision ever and I will be looking for a new provider that can fill the gap!

I personally think that the real reason is not developer resources but rather sales and marketing. In the end you don't need vault if you use the permissions system but that means need to have a family account or a business account and those both cost money. I read the comment about people accidentally seeing your files but I think that the most common use scenario is a family Dropbox without a family account and then the main user has the vault for his personal files. Now that there is no vault you must either get the family plan or find another service

I see where you are coming from with the family plan but for me other people have access to my phone/ipad/laptop and my laptop only has a single profile so that plan wouldn’t mean they’d get more money out of me which I’m sure is their goal - unfortunately looking at the many posts on this topic they are going to get a lot less money

I agree, losing Vault was a horrible move.   I need family to have access to almost all my files if I die.  But I want a place where I keep things no one needs to ever see.  Stupid, stupid,   I will be researching the forums for a better home for my life work.
