Fixed both the hardlinks and permissions, but no change in behavior.

I'm having the same problem. Files copied into the Dropbox folder in Win 11 don't show their metadata (specifically Description, which I added in Explorer). When I copy the files into a regular Win 11 folder, from the Dropbox folder, they appear again. So the info is there somewhere.
