Folder Aliases (Desktop, Documents, Downloads) created by Backup not working properly

Macbook Pro
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)

Pretty much what the subject says. After an update it seems Dropbox automatically began backing up those folders. I'm fine with that but the aliases DB created aren't working properly. I suspect it's due to the fact that the new backup folder (Mac) doesn't seem to be syncing to the local machine (It's not even listed locally although it is visible on the web). I've looked but can't seem to find a way to sync it. Any Ideas?
Actually, I've figured it out. The permissions on the dropbox files was incorrect. Getting them to Read/Write corrected the issue.

By the way, I’m Theresa 👩💻, one of the community managers here. Since you’ve been digging into backup and folder behaviours, I’d love to know... do you have a favourite Dropbox feature that helps you stay organised or makes things run more smoothly on your device?
Looking forward to hearing more,

In Finder DB has changed the location to an alias (i.e.) no the default home folder location. I this case /Users/dan/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox/Mac/Desktop. But the Desktop is blank. And the folder Mac doesn't show on local dropbox as it shows a a hidden system file.

Hey DReese, thanks for joining us here on the Dropbox Community!
Would you mind clarifying what you mean when you say that the aliases aren't working properly?
Are you getting some kind of error message? If you could send us any screenshots of the behavior/issue, it would be great for us to have a visual.
Also, can you please hover over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and let us know the sync status and version of the Dropbox app?
Thanks in advance!
