Having issues reinstalling Dropbox on Mac OS

I'm having issues reinstalling my Dropbox on my MacOS (15.7.1) desktop. I had it synced with Scrivener, but it was taking so long to sync that I deleted the app mid-sync and cleared out the CloudStorage folder of the Dropbox folder. Then I uninstalled the app, and deleted all trace of Dropbox from my computer.

I just reinstalled it but then I was getting errors saying it wasn't able to load. This is the message I got saying I should share it with Support.

Now I've unlinked my device from my account, and when I open the desktop app it just keeps saying it's not connected to the internet. I'm not quite sure what to do.

Also when I try to attach my error message about "7 5 5 is not allowed in the community. Remove it and try again," so here's my pastebin of my error log.

Hi salsamaster, thanks for posting today!

For security, we're unable to view external sites such as pastebin.

Could you copy and paste the text in your log (and not attach the actual file itself) in your next reply in order for us to look into this in more detail?

This will help me to assist further!

Jay unfortunately every time I try to post it, I get "7 5 5 is not allowed in the community. Remove it and try again." That's why I had to put a space between the numbers.

That's interesting to note! Could you try posting the log again, but remove any mention of the 755 (since there is probably that number in the log somewhere).

Hey salsamaster, thanks for the error log.

This issue usually gets resolved by restarting the Dropbox app; if you quit it and then relaunch it, does it help at all?

No, I tried it a couple of times and then restarted my computer and tried it, and it still didn't work.

I see, thanks for the update, salsamaster.

Since the issue persists, check whether you have a copy of the Dropbox.app file on your computer in these locations:

    1. /Applications
    2. ~/Library/Application Support/Dropbox
    • If you see this file in both locations, delete the file in the second location(~/Library/Application Support/Dropbox).
    • If you see the file in the second location but not in the first, move the file to the first location(/Applications).

           3. Restart the Dropbox desktop app.

I didn't see any duplicates, but I did just restart the app and it looks like it's okay now!
