Solved

I can't launch the Dropbox app on Win11 - it keeps disappearing.

I cannot start Dropbox after installed it on my laptop (using windows 11 24H2).

It appears in the task manager for a few seconds and disappearred then.

  • I've solved the problem. It seems dropbox app is conflicted with the vpn i used.

    Thanks for the update, vy3800.

If you've already uninstalled the Dropbox app, restarted your computer and reinstalled it, but the issue persists, please try our more advanced reinstall and let us know how it goes.

Hey vy3800, thanks for the additional info.

Do you see the Dropbox icon in your system tray at all?

If you do, can you hover over it with your mouse and let us know what you see?

The problem is on my new laptop. I only installed Astrill as the vpn to connect to dropbox as i am in mainland china. I also used Astrill on my old laptop with dropbox, no problem at all.

I've tried reinstall dropbox, restart my computer, reinstall windows but all these are not helpful. There is no 3rd party antivirus or firewalls except for the Mircosoft Safe Centre.

Hey vy3800, it might sound trivial, but have you tried restarting your device at all?

Do you happen to be running any 3rd party apps on your computer that could be interfering somehow? These could vary from security programs like antivirus or firewalls to 3rd party apps that might be monitoring and syncing or backing up your files in the Dropbox folder (apart from the Dropbox desktop app that is).

Let us know more and we'll take it from there.
