DropBox Installer doesn't launch
Hi there,
I am trying to install the dropbox app on my Mac, but whilst the .dmg file is downloaded, when I double-click on it it wouldn't launch.
A bit of context : I have upgraded my computer which is now running under Monterey 12.0.1. before this upgrade DropBox was working fine on my mac. After the upgrade the application wouldn't start. I uninstalled it by putting the dropbox icon in the wastebin.
Precision : I am a user of a business account of which I am not the administrator.
Thank you very much for your help !
Could you try a new OS profile and let me know if you're able to install our desktop app there then MarjoLacherez?

Hey MarjoLacherez, welcome to our Community and thanks for using Dropbox!
As Renatas mentioned there's an issue affecting some of our users at the time - for more information you can take a look here and subscribe to the incident to get email notifications about its progress.
When it comes to installing our desktop app on your computer, I'd suggest making sure to do it with admin privileges.
Also, navigate to your Mac's System Preferences, go to Safety and Privacy and then grant Dropbox Complete Access to Disk.
I hope this helps! - MarjoLacherez5 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Hello Walter,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I saw today that the issue has been resolved. Nevertheless, I have downloaded the .dmg, but it still wouldn't launch.
I am admin on my computer, it is my personal one and I have previously downloaded and installed the DropBox app without any problems.
Finally, I could grant Dropbox Complete Access to Disk if only I had the DropBox app on my computer ?
Best wishes,

Hello Walter
Thank you very much, I went on a different profile and it helped to have a clear desktop 🙂
The dropbox installer didn't launch by itself, but I noticed it appeared as a disk on my desktop. And that was it !
I have access to my and my team's documents, like I used to !
Thank you very much for your help 🙂

Had the same issue with the DropboxInstaller.dmg file. It downloaded, but didn't launch when I tried opening it.
Then figured out it was recognised as a disk image and visible in my locations in finder. Works fine now! - ik9995 years agoNew member | Level 2
Thanks, this was a great clue. The .dmg doesn't behave as expected as it auto-mounts as a disk image on the desktop.

Hey Gal K.- sorry to hear about this.
Could you try downloading and installing the desktop app from this page and let me know how it goes?
If you get any errors along the way, I'd appreciate a screenshot.
