I can't log in to the desktop app on Windows 11; I see an "access is denied" error message.

Hey dardar4, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Let's get right to it!

Are you on a free Basic account and have more than 3 devices linked to your account already?

That might be a reason why you're getting this error, so you can check your linked devices at the bottom of this page and unlink any you don't need.

Also, how about the Microsoft store version of the app mentioned on the pop-up window? Have you previously installed it and is it still installed on your computer?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

Hi

I currently have 2 linked accounts (my home PC and Android phone)
I am trying to install a third on my work laptop

I installed Dropbox from the Microsoft Store in the past, but I removed it a few days ago.
You can see in the attached photo that the Dropbox is not installed, but when running the installer, I get a message that it is still installed

Also tried to delete some registry keys using ChatGPT, but it didn't work

    Thanks for the visual, dardar4. Did you also restart your device (after removing the Dropbox app that had been installed via the Microsoft Store), and you keep seeing the same error message?
