Impossible to get rid of the Dropbox desktop app from the startup.
It is impossible to prevent Dropbox from starting up uninvited. Preferences don't do what they should, editing registry , disabling in start-up...etc
A very intrusive and annoying behaviour - if it is not fixed within a short period of time I will uninstall and stop using Dropbox. There are other solutions (Googledrive, Onedrive...etc) that are better behaving.

Hi there, albasdad, welcome to our Community!
For starters, have you disabled the option "Start Dropbox on system startup" when accessing your app's preferences? I'm guessing you already have, I just wanted to make sure.
Would you like to share some additional info such as the exact OS version of your computer and the version and syncing status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar/taskbar at the moment?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
