Linked accounts when using the desktop app. Is it possible?
I am a consultant working with multiple businesses. I recently added a new customer, and they added me to their Dropbox. When I set it up, Dropbox linked my previous account onto my new account, mean...

The one on my hard drive is where I wanted both to be accessible, but I can only login to the new one on the website.

12 months agoHi Korrin, in order to understand what you're experiencing in more detail, please could you give us more information, without telling us your email addresses.
Could you confirm the plans for both accounts on this page, and let us know which account you used when you 'joined' the other user's Dropbox account, and which is your Basic plan?

The new account is Basic. The previous account is paid personal account, not business. I used a whole new email address to join the new account. I'm guessing it got the files from the hard drive Dropbox.
Not sure how to explain my accounts without giving you my email address.

Hey Korrin, I hope it's okay to jump in.
If none of the accounts is a Business one, then I'm afraid there's no way to pair/link the two accounts, in order to access both of them from your computer.
Also, a Basic account is just the default version of a Dropbox account, so you wouldn't need to join it; how did your new customer add you to their Dropbox?
Did they send you an invitation to join their team or did you perhaps just join a folder they shared with you?

On the new account just delete them - it sounds like you didn't delete the files off your computer before setting the new account up so its re-uploaded them.
Check they are still showing on the original account by going to www.dropbox.com/home and logging on under the old email (an incognito window may make this easier) then once you know they are you can either delete them from the new account, or, just drag out of the Dropbox folder which will have the same effect.
