I had the same issue and found a workaround which works for me
-> Open TaskManager
-> Navigate to Startup
-> Select Dropbox and push the mouse's right button for properties
-> Got to the Table Compatibility
-> Check the checkbox for "run this program as an administrator"
-> Reboot your computer
Dropbox wil run as administrator
It solved the problem for me

I also reinstalled Dropbox but it didn't help.

6 years agoJust to cover all bases, when you notice this issue is the sync status of the app showing "up to date" or "syncing"?
Also, have you rebooted your device recently?

The app shows 'up to date' and when something changes 'syncing'.
I've recordered small video so you could better understand the problem
https://www.dropbox.com/s/k70pb7z4ywhyynf/dropbox.mp4?dl=0- stage1 - run 3 xls files without dropbox running - very fast startup
- open dropbox and do the same - only first run is fast, all subsequent runns are very slow
- then I run directly excel program (without any files preopened) and sropbox running - startup is fast (just to show that issue is related to some kind of DDE or COM)
- I quit dropbox and run against 3 test files - startup is fast again- KuotaKevel5 years agoExplorer | Level 3My pc has exactly the same trouble.
