Issues with local files showing a cloud icon on Mac OS 26/Dropbox Beta Build 230.3.8686
I am using Macos 26 public beta and Dropbox Beta Build 230.3.8686 on my Imac. My Dropbox storage is on an external SSD.
All of the local files show a cloud with an ! in the middle. The message states “Cannot connect with helper app.”
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Kyle

Hey kwarendorf - thanks for letting us know about this.
Just to make sure we're on the same page, could you send us a screenshot of how it looks on your end and clarify the app's status as shown in your menu bar?
Thank you!

Hi Walter,
I have attached screenshots of both the appearance of the files in Finder and the window that appears when I click on the Menu Bar icon. I have tried saving images from my local drive to a folder on Dropbox. I appears that the file is saved but the image does not appear in the Dropbox folder. It's like there is no connection between Dropbox and my iMac. I am unable to open any files that appear in the Dropbox folder.

I just tries deleting and reinstalling the desktop app. I received the following error. I have included the log info generated by clicking on the link.

Hi KJWSr, just for clarification, are you the same user as kwarendorf, meaning you have two separate Dropbox accounts?

Hi Jay,
I am. I realized that I had set up a Test account to confirm the use of external drives. I just deleted that account. I should have only one remaining account, pointed to [Removed as per Community Guidelines]
