Notification Badge in Menubar Icon - How Do I Make It Go Away?
Hi. I'm running Dropbox v121.4.4267 on Mac OS High Sierra. I don't if something happened with an automatic update. Now, I'm getting something I haven't seen before. I, suddenly, have a red badge on the icon in my menubar and I don't know why it's there. I can't figure out how to make it go away. I don't have any notifications so I don't know what it's trying to tell me. How do I get rid of it?
Thanks.

I'm having the same issue. There are no notifications anywhere. I've even turned off the badge preference in Dropbox Preferences, though it's unclear they are related. Still nothing. It's annoying seeing a new item notification and have it signify nothing. I may have to remove Dropbox from my computer if there is no resolution.

Figured it out. I switched accounts to my business Dropbox and there was a notification of a new spam message from... Dropbox. Awesome. At least I got rid of it.

I'm having this issue too. The alert is that Dropbox for MacOS is available.
However even after I click through "Get Started" and go through the upgrade steps, it comes right back. I am running v165.4.4300
Any ideas?

Recently a red numeral appeared on my taskbar icon. i have no notifications. i cannot get rid of it. no problem except that now the blue synching icon does not function, even when material is being synched. the red numeral appears on all my devices so it is not specific to any one of them. i tried a re-install and that did not work. i like to know when my stuff is synching correctly....very annoying!

Hi Koorbloh, welcome to our Community!
If you could share some additional info with me, such as the device's OS, and syncing status, along with the version of the app you're using, that'd be amazing.
Also, I merged you to a similar thread, where the OP expressed a similar issue. Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps mentioned here?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan!
thanks for replying.
i think the red numeral appeared when i tried to transfer a file instead of sharing it. but i just went in and was able to delete the pending transfer, which i had never completed. but the red numeral is still with me. it is present on my desktop and on my thinkpad, thus it doesn't seem to be an issue with a particular device. i tried the re-install on the desktop to no avail. the real problem is that the presence of the numeral precludes the blue synching icon from working. this is very annoying since i like to be sure that my synching is always working.
i'm running Win 10, not 7 as i previously mentioned. any and all help much appreciated!
